My Greek Books review In her debut work, Stella Nahatis shares the story of a childhood interrupted and the separation of sisters. It’s the story of how fate tore two young girls from the only life they knew and sent them to the unknown. Stella shares her struggles as a young girl who not only had to assimilate into a new family, but also into a new country. This story will pierce your heart and stay with you. Yet, it’s a story of resilience, perseverance, and the power of family bonds. Maria Karamitsos, author, writer, poet.

I honestly couldn’t put it down!

I knew a little of your background, but just wow. It is incomprehensible to me how much you went through and have over come. I don’t know how you did it. I’m in total awe and admiration. Thanks so much for putting your story into writing!❤️ I also have to tell you that I have always been an avid reader, but since Alex died almost 8 years ago (!) I have not been able to sit and focus on a book. Yours was the first that I have finished in all those years. I’ve tried to read many times, but for whatever reason, I couldn’t get into anything. Thanks for bringing the joy of reading back to me! Lisa Kelly Nahatis

An incredible journey, from start to finish

“Taxi to America” takes you on an incredible journey, not only to destinations, but also on a personal introspective of the author’s awe-inspiring life. A must read

Compelling!

Taxi to America is an inspired novel about Stella's journey from Thessaloniki to Boston. Orphaned at age 10 and separated from her sister, it is with grit and resilience that Stella finds happiness and peace. A page turner as you root for Stella also learn about Greek culture and historical influences. Enjoy. Pat Burke

Great Read

With determination and resilience, the orphaned Stella, makes her way from Greece to the US. Her memoir is inspiring and offers us both insights into her resilience and determination and also Greek culture and history. Well done and excellent book group choice.
