Where did the summer go? And October is almost over. I remember the days when time was not moving fast enough. School breaks took forever to arrive and were over way too fast. Yes, I am certain that you recall that period in your life. For me it was decades ago and yet in my heart I feel it was just a couple of years ago. How does that happen? Enough of that.
Here, in New England we have enjoyed beautiful Fall colors. Leaf-peepers as they are referred to come from all over to visit our states to see the foliage. They research and plan for in advance for the peak season. Hotels and bed and breakfast establishments enjoy a prosperous fall season if the weather cooperates. As of this weekend, October 22, 23, in Northern New England the foliage is past peak. But in the southern and coastal Massachusetts towns the peak is expected around next weekend, which coincides with Halloween.
The leaves begin to change their colors as early as mid-September. By the second or third week in October their foliage peeks. The typical shades are red, orange, and yellow. But I have seen purple and magenta on some trees.

You may, already, know this but I did not. “The vivid leave colors are actually hidden underneath the green all along! As the sunlight decreases and cold increases, tree growth slows and the production of green chlorophyll in their leaves begins to slow, revealing fall leaves’ brilliant yellow, orange, and red.” I will leave the link to the article below.
